Do you work as a member of a Trauma Team? Would you like to put your knowledge into practice in a safe, controlled environment? Then come and immerse yourself in high fidelity, interprofessional trauma team simulation training.
Trauma Team Simulation Training (TTST) focusses on the principles of Crisis Resource Management and the technical and non-technical skills required to coordinate, utilise and apply all available resources to optimise patient safety and outcomes.
Prerequisites
- Minimum 6 month trauma/emergency experience
- Recommended that participants have attended formal trauma training within the last 4 years (EMST/ATLS (external site), APLS, or TNCC etc.).
Learning outcomes
- To utilise the principles of Crisis Resource Management in trauma to reduce the risk of critical incidents
- To demonstrate the correct technical and non-technical skills required to asses and manage a simulated trauma patient
- To demonstrate the key principles of effective team work within a interprofessional team whilst managing a simulated trauma patient.

2023 course calendar
The Trauma Team Simulation Training Course is recommencing face to face courses adhering to health guidelines; 1 person per 2 square metres, maintaining 1.5 metre distancing from other staff, and wearing of surgical masks at all times.

Australian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) PDP program (external site): The Trauma Team Simulation Training (TTST) course is approved for 8 ACEM CPD hours.
Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (external site): The Trauma Team Simulation Training (TTST) course is accredited for a total of 10 PDP hours - 5 educational activity, 4 performance review and 1 additional CPD requirements.
The Trauma Team Simulation Training (TTST) course is a CPD approved activity under the RACGP CPD Program (external site) for 8.5 hours – 4.0 educational activities and 4.5 reviewing performance.
