Description: The WA health system Code of Conduct (Code) identifies and defines the standards of ethical and professional conduct and behaviours expected of all staff within the WA health system.
The Code intends to promote a positive workplace culture by providing a framework to support ethical day-to-day conduct and appropriate decision making by staff through their individual actions, and delivery of health services for Western Australians.
Staff should be mindful of how their behaviour may be perceived by others and ensure their conduct maintains the integrity of the WA health system and compliant with relevant legislation and policies. WA health staff are also expected to comply with the professional codes of conduct and ethics relevant to their profession.
This policy is a mandatory requirement for Health Service Providers under the Employment Policy Framework pursuant to section 26(2)(l) of the Health Services Act 2016 (HS Act).
This policy is a mandatory requirement for the Department of Health pursuant to section 29 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 (PSM Act).
