Manufacturing wastewater systems

The Department of Health is consulting on a draft code of practice for on-site wastewater disposal. The aim is to adopt the code of practice within future wastewater regulations to be created under the Public Health Act 2016. You are invited to provide feedback. Review the consultation page (external site) for more details. Submissions close 4.00 pm 28 September 2023. 

Applications to manufacture wastewater systems must comply with the Code of Practice for Product Approval of Onsite Wastewater Systems in Western Australia (PDF 1.1 MB).

Secondary treatment systems

All Secondary treatment systems with a hydraulic capacity of less than 5000L/day are required to obtain certification to AS/NZS 1546.3 2017 Secondary treatment systems.
