Free Influenza Vaccine Program May, June and July 2026

The WA Free Influenza Vaccine Program 2026 ran between 1 May to 31 July 2026. Participating immunisation providers could administer state-funded influenza vaccines to people aged 12 to 64 years who were not otherwise eligible for an influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). People without a Medicare card and those travelling to Western Australia, were also eligible for a vaccine under the Free Influenza Vaccine Program (the Program).

General practices, community pharmacies, Aboriginal Medical Services, nurse practitioner clinics, corporate vaccination service providers and community health immunisation clinics participated in the Program.

In 2026, Fluzone® was the influenza vaccine available for the Program.

Please note:

  • All influenza vaccines administered were required to be recorded in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
  • Fluzone® ordered for the Program could only be used for people not eligible for NIP or other state-funded influenza vaccines. Additionally, NIP-funded influenza vaccines can only be used for NIP eligible people, in accordance with the current WA Immunisation Schedule.

Eligibility

Eligibility for the Program included:

  • people aged 12 to 64 years, not otherwise eligible for NIP-funded influenza vaccines, including:
    • people without a Medicare card
    • interstate or international visitors.

Ordering vaccines

Vaccines for the program were ordered via the Onelink portal (external site).
