Made in WA Policy

Description: The Made in WA Policy (policy) seeks to maximise the economic and social benefits of WA Health’s procurement activities by prioritising the purchase of goods and services, designed, manufactured and supplied within Western Australia.

The policy supports the Western Australian Government’s Made in WA Plan that sets out measures, consistent with the objectives and provisions of the WA Buy Local Policy 2022, and the WA Industry Participation Strategy 2024. The policy aligns to General Procurement Direction 2025/15 – Supporting local manufacturing which outlines the requirements for promoting the procurement of goods and services that are designed, manufactured and supplied within Western Australia.

This policy is a mandatory requirement for Health Service Providers under the Procurement Policy Framework pursuant to section 26(2)(d) of the Health Services Act 2016.

This policy is also a mandatory requirement for the Department of Health pursuant to section 29 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994.
