School holidays COVID-19 vaccination program

1 July 2022

With school holidays here, our focus is again on ensuring our kids have the opportunity for a COVID-19 vaccination while out and about.

The Roll Up for WA bus will be visiting various locations across the metropolitan area.

While we are now learning to live with COVID-19, it is important that we keep the momentum of protection and stay up to date with our vaccinations.

Protecting our youngest Western Australians from serious illness is a priority and we know that the vaccine is the best defence against COVID-19.

The COVID-19 Vaccination team will be out in the suburbs these school holidays making it easier for children to get vaccinated at a range of fixed and pop-up events, such as the Mundaring Markets, King’s Park Naturescape and the Marine Terrace Car Park in Fremantle, to encourage vaccination among our five to 11-year-old children.

All metropolitan community vaccination clinics will be offering one free movie pass for every child vaccinated, while all shopping centre clinics will offer a $10 voucher for a small business café/shop in the centre for every child vaccinated.

Participating clinics and shopping centres:

In addition, as the school holidays this year will coincide with the NAIDOC Week celebrations our Maxi Vaxi vaccination bus will be visiting various locations across the metropolitan area to provide opportunity for vaccination for those attending these significant events.

The Maxi Vaxi bus will be at the NAIDOC opening ceremony at Supreme Court Gardens on 3 July and the NAIDOC Basketball and Netball carnivals in Floreat and Jolimont as well as NAIDOC events at Joondalup and Merriwa., A full list of events and locations can be found below.

There are also plenty of opportunities for vaccination at GP’s, Aboriginal Medical Services and pharmacies across the State and people are encouraged to visit the Roll up for WA and Vaccinate WA website for details.

We urge all parents to take advantage of this opportunity to protect and safeguard our children and families against COVID-19.

Further, the expanded free influenza vaccination program that ran during June 2022 will now continue throughout July ensuring all Western Australians can access vaccinations as an extra incentive for people to arm themselves against the flu.
