If you get new symptoms within 4 weeks of initial infection, stay home while sick.

People at greater risk of severe COVID-19 disease who develop new symptoms within 4 weeks of ending isolation should contact their GP or healthcare provider for advice.

WA’s Deputy Chief Health Officer, Dr Clare Huppatz, outlines what to do if you get symptoms within 4 weeks of COVID-19 infection (external site).

People who get new COVID-19 symptoms more than 4 weeks after ending isolation should get tested with a rapid antigen test (RAT) or PCR.

If the test result is negative, stay at home until symptoms resolve.

If the test is positive for COVID-19, follow the isolation protocols for a case.
