WA Clinical Trials Roadmap

The WA Clinical Trials Roadmap (the Roadmap) has been designed to guide the WA clinical trials ecosystem to expand clinical trial capacity and boost access to clinical trials for Western Australians.
The Roadmap sets out an ambitious vision for the state to have a thriving, innovative, networked, competitive, and culturally safe clinical trials ecosystem where every Western Australian has access to world-class clinical trials that are embedded in routine clinical care.
Developed through widespread consultation and engagement with stakeholders involved in clinical trials, including consumers, the Roadmap has been designed to meet the needs of WA and leverage the state’s unique opportunities.
The ambitious plan identifies the key steps required to enable clinical trials in WA:
- Embed clinical trials in healthcare delivery.
- Support and grow the clinical trials workforce.
- Empower and partner with consumers.
- Connect and leverage the clinical trials ecosystem through world-class infrastructure and integrated systems.
- Grow the reputation and visibility of WA’s clinical trials sector.
The Roadmap outlines a bold plan to help WA realise the benefits of clinical trials and transform the lives of Western Australians by expanding access to the latest medical advances.
