Finalists announced for the WA Health Excellence Awards 2026

The finalists for the 2026 WA Health Excellence Awards have been announced.

These prestigious awards celebrate individuals and teams who have made remarkable contributions to our public health system and embody a commitment to excellence in health care and willingness to improve health outcomes for our community.

This year we received an overwhelming number of nominations across all categories, highlighting the talent and dedication across WA Health.

Finalists are competing for excellence across the following categories – preventive health; mental health, alcohol and other drugs; person-centred care; safety and quality; workplace wellbeing and culture; research and innovation; sustainability; Aboriginal health; rural and remote health care; and caring for older people.

The Minister for Health’s Award will recognise a WA health professional’s lifetime achievement, while the most exceptional team or project will receive the Director General’s Award.

The Health Heroes Award again attracted an outstanding number of nominations, with 4 impressive WA health system staff shortlisted as finalists. This special category provided the WA community the opportunity to nominate their own healthcare champion.
