Fluoridated drinking water for Capel and Donnybrook

The communities of Capel and Donnybrook are now benefiting from fluoridated public drinking water supplies, marking a significant milestone in advancing oral health and overall wellbeing in the region. 

The successful completion of the fluoridation process in Capel and Donnybrook is part of the broader roll-out across the South West. Currently, about 94 per cent of Western Australia’s population has access to fluoridated drinking water.

Fluoridation is a proven approach to improving oral health and reducing medical conditions linked to poor dental hygiene, such as cardiovascular disease and rheumatoid arthritis.  

The Department of Health will monitor water quality to ensure compliance with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Act 1966.
