COVID19 update 13 April 2022

WA Health is reporting a total of 7,426 new cases to 8pm last night. There are currently 39,591 active cases in Western Australia.

To 8pm last night, there were 215 people with COVID-19 in hospital, four in ICU.

Today’s report includes two historical deaths dating back to 4th of April, which were reported to WA Health yesterday. The two historical deaths are a man in his 90s and a man in his 30s.

Due to patient confidentiality, no further information will be released by the Department on these deaths.

Notes:

  1. This data is based on the residential postcode of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remainder of daily cases reported (356) are yet to have a region assigned. Data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 7,426 cases – 2,701 were confirmed via PCR tests, the remaining 4,725 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.

A total 12,712 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.

WA has recorded 265,376 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
