WA Health is investigating a weak positive COVID-19 case, identified today outside of the normal reporting cycle and has issued public health advice for Western Australians who visited exposure locations.
For all people who attended the below locations during the exposure periods to get tested immediately and self-quarantine until a negative result is received.
The State’s total remains at 1058.
There are nine active COVID-19 cases being monitored by WA Health: two in hotel quarantine, five cases onboard the MV Darya Krishna and two crew members from the MV Darya Krishna are in hospital One crew member is in a stable condition in ICU; the other is in a stable condition on a respiratory ward.
To date, 1040 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
Testing clinics
Yesterday, 897 people were swabbed at State-run clinics. To date, there have been 1,528,716 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 184,209 were from regional WA.

Vaccination
Yesterday 16,274 people were administered with a vaccine dose - 10,401 of those were second doses. These figures represent vaccinations at State-run clinics and doses given as part of the Commonwealth rollout.

Border controls
Western Australia has assessed New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria as medium risk (external site) states. The Australian Capital Territory is low risk (external site). The Northern Territory and Tasmania are considered very low risk (external site).
Variants
To date, 123 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 53 Alpha strain, 15 Beta strain, one Gamma strain and 54 Delta strain.
