Nutrition Monitoring Survey Series

The Nutrition Monitoring Survey Series (NMSS) monitors knowledge, attitudes, beliefs and behaviours of Western Australian adults, as they relate to the Australian Dietary Guidelines. It also assesses public opinion on current and proposed food and nutrition policies and aims to identify dietary concerns, barriers to, and promoters of healthy eating behaviour.

The survey provides information to assist with public health planning, policy and program development and delivery. The NMSS has previously been conducted in 1995, 1998, 2001, 2004, 2009, 2012 and most recently 2015. The survey is a key resource for the WA health system and the broader WA public health community of practice (academia, other government and non-government agencies).
