General practice

Important information for referrers.

The General Practice website is no longer available. Referral information can be found via the relevant service.

Central Referral Service

The Central Referral Service has been set up to allocate referrals for a first outpatient appointment with a specialist at a clinic within a public metropolitan hospital.

Referral Access Criteria

Referral Access Criteria (RAC) are clinical decision support tools that will standardise the referral process for public outpatient services in Western Australia (WA). RAC will be used by referring practitioners when referring into the WA public outpatient system and the Central Referral Service to assess and allocate referrals to the appropriate hospital.

HealthPathways

HealthPathways offers clinicians locally agreed information to make the right decisions, together with patients, at the point of care. Health pathways provide clear and concise guidance for assessing and managing a patient with a particular symptom or condition. Pathways also include information about making requests to services in the local health system.
