The list of Same-day ACHI Procedure Codes supports compliance with Section 6.1 Same day admissions of the Admitted Patient Activity Data Business Rules (effective 1 July 2024).

The WA Clinical Coding Authority (WACCA) has governance of the Same-day ACHI Procedure Codes list and will add, update and delete codes in accordance with:

• Updates to the Private Health Insurance (Benefit Requirements) Rules 2011;
• Updates to the Australian Classification of Health Interventions;
• Consultation with the Australian Government Department of Health (i.e., the Medicare Benefits Schedule [MBS] Review Taskforce); and
• Consultation with the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA).
