WA has a wide range of healthcare services, from everyday health needs to urgent medical care designed to support you and your family.
Objectives
Improve health outcomes through appropriate care-seeking behaviour
- Support Western Australians to access timely and suitable care, leading to better health outcomes and a more sustainable health system.
Build confidence in navigating the health system
- Improve community confidence in knowing where to go, and how to access care, for different health needs.
Strengthen engagement with the WA health system
- Promote trust, credibility and positive engagement across the health system by positioning alternative services as accessible, reliable and effective options.
Increase awareness of alternative care options
- Increase public understanding of the range of healthcare services available as appropriate alternatives to the emergency department for non-life-threatening conditions.
Promote appropriate use of emergency departments
- Encourage people to seek alternative care for non-life-threatening conditions.
