Workforce and Employment

Purpose

The Workforce and Employment Policy Framework outlines the mandatory policy requirements for WA health entities (Health Service Providers and the Department of Health) to ensure effective and consistent employment governance and workforce capability across the WA health system. The requirements cover industrial relations, human resource management, ethics, conduct, and clinical teaching and training activities.

Mandatory requirements

Please refer to the Public Sector Commissioner’s Instructions and compliance instruments and the Department of Mines and Industry Regulation and Safety Circulars and Policies to access relevant statewide employment policies, circulars and other relevant information.

The Department of Health, on behalf of the System Manager, is responsible for monitoring and ensuring WA health entities comply with the requirements set out in each mandatory policy.
