Patients with wounds and health professionals across Western Australia will soon benefit from our new telephone-based advisory service being piloted during 2009.

The service aims to improve patient outcomes and achieve significant cost savings by assisting clinicians to apply the latest evidence-based wound management.

Six regional hospitals will take part in the pilot, which starts in February:

• Broome Hospital
• Warmun Clinic
• Northam Hospital
• Collie Hospital
• Plantagenet Hospital
• Albany Hospital

Once the pilot program has been completed, the WoundsWest Advisory Service will be implemented across the state.
