Delivering a Healthy WA
WoundsWest

Welcome

Welcome to the WoundsWest website.

The WoundsWest initiative will provide health care practitioners, health consumers and the community with a system for prediction, prevention and management of all wound categories.

Through the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer and under the auspices of Ambulatory Care and Chronic Disease Management Reform, the Department of Health is taking proactive steps to better understand the magnitude and management of wounds in Western Australia.

Health Minister Jim McGinty announced the launch of the WoundsWest project on 22nd November 2006 with funding of $1.6 million committed to the project over the next 3 years. Minister McGinty said in a media statement that “WA is now leading the world in terms of ensuring that wound care is of the highest possible standard at all times, regardless of where the patient is located.”
