Child Care Facilities
Jewel House Child Care Centre at Royal Perth Hospital
The Jewel House Child Care Centre is designed to look after children between
5 – 12 years of age on a permanent basis during school holiday periods
for registered and enrolled nurses that work at Royal Perth Hospital.
The Children's Hospital Child Care Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital
The Children's Hospital Child Care Centre is located in the grounds of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) and provides care for a maximum of 47 children. The Centre has a particular focus on providing care for shift-working parents, children who have additional needs and families who have a child receiving treatment at PMH. The Centre is available to staff of PMH/KEMH as well as staff from other Health Services.
Before and After School Care
at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital / Hollywood Private Hospital
Health Services Family Association Inc - Outside School Hours Care Centre at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital provides Before and After School Care and Vacation Care programs for employees at both hospital campuses.
- Before and After School Care licensed & accredited 26 places and transports children to & from schools within 5kms radius of SCGH/HPH.
- Vacation Care Program licensed & accredited 55 places and caters for children 4 -8 years and 9-15 years in a split age program.
Child Care Coordinator - A joint initiative of Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Hollywood Private Hospital. A Child Care Coordinator is employed to assist staff at both hospital campuses to locate child care suitable to their needs.
Vacation Care Program
- A joint initiative of Princess Margaret Hospital and YMCA
The Vacation Care Program is an excursion based program coordinated by
the YMCA. The program occurs during official school holidays (not
public holidays) with 35 places available daily. The cost to PMH is $37.00
per day, families are asked to pay $10.00 of that.
Vacation Care Program - A joint initiative

The Vacation Care Program is now open to all RPH staff.
Mothers / Family Rooms
Mother's Room at Fremantle
Hospital
The Mother's Room at Fremantle Hospital is a facility which provides
a private location for breastfeeding mothers to express milk or if arrangements
can be made for another care-giver to bring the child into the Hospital
to breast feed the baby on site.
Family Work Room at Health Corporate Network
The Family Work Room is located Health Corporate Network, 81 St Georges Terrace.
Family Work Room at Royal Street Division
The Family Work Room has been established in the Royal
Street Division to assist employees in caring for their immediate family
or dependents in an emergency, when normal care arrangements have broken
down or when, due to non-infectious illness, normal care arrangements cannot
be used. It also provides facilities for the expressing of breast milk.
