Trauma Nursing Core Course
The Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is an internationally accredited course that is conducted in over 14 countries. This course is a dynamic and interactive two day programme that delivers core trauma knowledge and skills necessary for the care and management of the severely injured patient. The course teaches nurses to rapidly and accurately assess the trauma patient for life threatening injuries and intervene as necessary.
In 2009, the Western Australian Trauma Education Committee (WATEC) was granted a licence to conduct this internationally accredited course in Western Australia and since then have successfully conducted up to 12 courses per year. The teaching faculty bring an enthusiastic approach with a broad range of skills and knowledge from both a metropolitan and rural perspective.
The Office of the Chief Nurse of WA provides ongoing support for the TNCC, ensuring the provision of standardised trauma training for nurses working within our diverse state.
This course also receives "recognition of prior learning/advanced standing" in postgraduate studies in well established Tertiary Institutions across WA.
