The goal of the State Trauma System (the healthcare system which manages and deals with injury and damage to the human body) is to deliver each patient to the trauma care facility (for example burns victims to the burns unit), which has the right resources to match his/her needs, in the shortest time possible.
The State Trauma System will be developed, encompassing the continuum of care from injury detection and control, through care and rehabilitation, incorporating all hospitals and health care facilities in Western Australia.
