Fitzroy Valley Health Service has an 8 bedded acute care hospital and services the surrounding communities in the Fitzroy Valley, with a population of 3,500 people. It has a very busy Emergency and Out-Patient department and the ambulance service is run by the hospital. Patients requiring specialist treatment are referred to Derby (240kms away) and Broome (400kms away).
