Family Birth Centre

Provides a home atmosphere for "normal" pregnancies and births.
- Pregnancy, labour and post birth care is provided with a postnatal stay of up to 24 hours. Pregnancy workshop of three evening classes is offered to all women.
- Once a month a refresher in parent education is offered to parents with other children.
- Every Sunday afternoon women can be orientated to the centre.
- Shared antenatal care is available to women who wish to maintain current care with their GP and /or wish to reduce the number of times they wish to travel to KEMH.
- Their care will be shared between their GP and the FBC midwivies.
