Southern suburbs pandemic H1N1 2009 influenza vaccination clinics
The Pandemic H1N1 2009 Influenza (Panvax) vaccine will be available to the public from Wednesday 30 September at GPs, clinics and health services throughout the state.
Before making an appointment with your GP it is recommended you check they have received the vaccine.
The vaccine will also be available for everyone 10 years of age and over at a number of free clinics in the metropolitan area.
In the southern suburbs, community vaccination clinics will be operating from 30 September to 9 October at:- Canning Town Hall, 1317 Albany Highway (corner George Street), Cannington.
- Kwinana Recquatic Centre, Corner Gilmore and Chisham Avenues, Kwinana.
- The Champion Centre (former PCYC), Champion Drive (opposite shopping centre), Armadale.
- Cockburn Youth Centre, 25 Wentworth Parade, Success.
- Thomson St Netball Pavilion, 20 Thomson St, Mandurah.
All clinics will open Monday to Friday, 12.00pm to 7.30pm. Opening hours may be modified depending on demand.
The Department of Health encourages all people 10 years of age and over to protect themselves and their families by being vaccinated, especially those in higher risk categories, which include:
- front line health care and community care workers who have direct contact with patients
- pregnant women
- adults and children 10 years of age and over, who have underlying chronic medical conditions such as asthma, cancers, HIV, heart disease, diabetes, and chronic kidney failure
- people who are obese with a body mass index (BMI) over 35
- Indigenous people, and remote and isolated communities
- children in special schools 10 years of age and over
- parents and guardians of children aged 0-6 months.
