Self-help groups provide information, support and social networking opportunities to people who share common interests or experiences.

Useful links

ARAFMI Friends and Carers Association provides details of evening groups and carers meetings as well as information on rural and youth services (formerly known as the Association of Relatives and Friends of the Mentally Ill).

Carers WA is the peak body for family carers and provides information, education, counselling and advocacy.

ConnectGroups is a community-based organisation that provides support and assistance for support groups and individuals (formerly Western Institute of Self Help).

GROW is a community of people working towards mental health through mutual help and a 12 step program of recovery.
