ACTIVITY COUNT is the number of occurrences of a HEALTH CARE SERVICE EVENT of a particular HEALTH CARE SERVICE EVENT TYPE.

Business Rules

Each ACTIVITY COUNT -

• must apply to only one CLIENT GROUP
• must be classified by only one HEALTH CARE SERVICE EVENT TYPE
• must be an accumulation of one or more HEALTH CARE SERVICE EVENTs

Client Group

A CLIENT GROUP is a POPULATION GROUP that is identified by its interaction with the Health System. That is, all members of a CLIENT GROUP must have some type of health event recorded, as they must be past clients of the DOH.

Business Rules

Each CLIENT GROUP is a type of POPULATION GROUP.

Each CLIENT GROUP -

• may be the subject of one or more ACTIVITY COUNTs
• may be the subject of one or more CONDITION COUNTs

Condition Count

CONDITION COUNT is the number of occurrences of a PROBLEM/CONDITION of a particular CONDITION type.

Business Rules

Each CONDITION COUNT -

• must apply to only one CLIENT GROUP
• must be classified by only one PROBLEM/CONDITION TYPE
• must be an accumulation of one or more PROBLEM/CONDITIONs

Data Collection Specification

A DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATION itemises information to be collected for a partiular purpose.

Business Rules

Each DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATION is a SURVEY SPECIFICATION, a RESEARCH DATA SPECIFICATION, an OTHER DATA SPECIFICATION or a NMDS.

Each DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATION may be about a POPULATION GROUP.

The specification of data to be collected for a National Minimum Data Set (NMDS)

Each NMDS is a type of DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATION.

Each NMDS may be included in a SURVEY SPECIFICATION.

Each OTHER DATA SPECIFICATION is a type of DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATION.

Coded and named sections of the population. The sections that are defined can be overlapping in that a member of the public can be in more than one group. Often this overlap is not known or does not need to be known.

• may be defined using one or more CHARACTERISTICs
• may be the subject of one or more DATA COLLECTION SPECIFICATIONs
• may be the subject of one or more SURVEYs
• may be defined using one or more CITY/TOWNs or may be defined using one or more POSTCODEs or may be defined using one or more REGION/LOCATION GROUPs or may be defined using one or more STATE/TERRITORYs
