National Health Information Model Alignment Tables

This document shows the match between the NHIM Version 2 and the DOH EIM Version 2.1. The scope of the NHIM exceeds the EIM is some areas, and the scope of the EIM exceeds the NHIM in others. However, the area of intersection has been mapped here. Alignment between the two models is problematic as the NHIM focuses on reporting information requirements and the EIM stored information requirements. Therefore, many of the NHIM entities would be derived from instances of data in several EIM entities.

The naming of the mapping relationship between entities in the different models is taken directly from the similar mapping between the NHIM Version 1 and the NSW Health EIM Version 2. The definitions are provided below.
