National health performance indicators
The National Healthcare Agreement, signed in December 2008, contains a set of national health performance indicators designed to measure and inform the community on how all governments are progressing towards achieving mutually agreed objectives, outcomes and outputs between the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments.
Specifications (including indicator descriptions and data sources to be used to produce results) for these performance indicators are still under development and refinement and will be released once they are finalised and endorsed by the relevant national governance bodies.
The first Council of Australian Governments Reform Council report, scheduled for public reporting in 2010, will contain the performance indicators and contextual information. The release of this report will be announced in this website.
