Hospital Morbidity Data System
The Hospital Morbidity Data System (HMDS) contains information concerning all inpatient discharge summary data from all public and private hospitals in Western Australia. The HDMS is a key information source used throughout the Department of Health and public and private hospitals to meet the mandatory and statutory reporting requirements.
In order to meet state and national requirements, the HMDS updates on an annual basis a list of data items collected through the HA22 form or its electronic equivalent. These updates are published in the HMDS Reference Manual to facilitate the data collection process.
