The North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) provides timely access to high quality health care, embracing acknowledged best practice to deliver improved clinical outcomes in the face of rising challenges for all health care providers.
The north metropolitan catchment area covers almost 3000 km2, with a population of almost 950 000, of whom 1.4 per cent are Aboriginal. Our population represents more than 40 per cent of Western Australia’s total, and is projected to grow to more than 1.1 million by 2020.
The North Metropolitan Health Service Governing Council came into effect on 1 July 2012, in conjunction with the NMHS. Historical information and 2011/12 financial year information relates to the former North Metropolitan Area Health Service (NMAHS).
