Governing councils – shaping the future of health in WA
On 1 July 2012, Western Australia officially launched five new Health Service Governing Councils made up of community members and clinicians selected by the Minister for Health.
These high-level governing councils have an important role to play in planning, monitoring and reporting on our public health services, and engaging with clinical and community stakeholders.
Their establishment has made the State’s public health system even more responsive and accountable to the community.
The Minister for Health announced the inaugural membership of the five governing councils on 10 May 2012.
