Pharmacy
What is it?
The Pharmacy project will deliver a single pharmacy system, available across multiple
tertiary, secondary and regional sites
around the state, with all sites using live interlinked data. This approach will:
- establish a single, robust state-wide IT system that can integrate with other enterprise systems
- deliver a common drug catalogue as the basis for usage analysis and supply chain improvements
- replace current pharmacy applications such as ASCribe and Lockie Lots
The project will standardise and improve business processes and the application will be PBS compliant.
What will the pharmacy system include?
The contract for i.Pharmacy, provided by iSoft, was awarded in November 2008. The product includes:
- Drug catalogue management
- Dispensing management
- Pharmacy inventory management (including Imprests)
- Pharmacy purchasing and receiving
- Drug knowledge / interactions database / decision support
- Drug manufacturing
- Pharmacy administration
- Reporting
