Delivering a Healthy WA
eHealthWA

Existing systems program

What is it?

The existing systems remediation program supports our transition from old to new systems. In conjunction with the portal and interoperability it will deliver:

  • Assess and remediate existing applications which have been identified as components of the new core systems
  • Work with the portal and interoperability project to determine which existing strategic/business critical applications should be migrated to the new interoperability platform
  • Provide a global data store to retain common information across WA Health e.g. patient demographics, provider information and drug catalogue
  • Provide a global data store to accommodate application data for newly developed applications within WA Health e.g. notifications and clinical summaries

Importantly, it will ensure continuing access to the information in existing systems. It is vital that we maintain this resource in order to avoid disruption to patient health care. Systems that are currently on our radar include MMEX, eConsult, Wand and a Global Data Store.
