Consultation process
How do we consult?
Through user group workshops, steering committees including the Clinical Reference Group and site-based implementation groups.

We encourage you to take part to help ensure:
- you get what you want
- outcomes are appropriate to your work processes and needs
To take part send an email, nominating your project area of interest to: ehealth@health.wa.gov.au
Our vision
IT will not be designing and imposing new systems without input from frontline users. Users will play an important role in:
- identifying business requirements
- validating proposed solutions
- helping to ensure a smooth transition from old to new systems.
Program
Working with key stakeholders in late 2008, a number of changes were made to the governance, scope and direction of the program. These included:
- A focus on business outcomes
- Delivering enabling capabilities that address current needs and facilitate reform.
- A phased approach to deliver more immediate benefit.
- The introduction of 5-year horizons to provide more realistic delivery intervals.
- A realignment of the governance to reflect the importance of business involvement.
We now have a clear roadmap for the future of the program.
The Clinical Reference Group (CRG)
The Clinical Reference Group will ensure that the program maintains a focus on business priorities and outcomes by;
- providing business advice and guidance
- helping to set priorities for the program
- seeking and coordinating input from the relevant clinical networks
- assessing new application development requests
Further consultation
The program will also work closely with innovation and health system reform directorate to ensure that:
- business has been fully engaged
- work programs are implemented and rolled out in a coordinated fashion.
- The program is also working closely with the national EHealth transition authority (NeHTA) to ensure alignment with the national EHealth agenda.
Governance structure
The governance structure for eHealthWA program ensures that the program:
- has the appropriate level of oversight and engagement across the organisation
- remains business-driven rather than technology-driven
