Notes on Tables 1 and 2

  1. Data were extracted from the WA Notifiable Infectious Diseases Database (WANIDD) on 14 May 2012.
  2. * refers to data analysed by date of receipt of notification. All other data were analysed on basis of the earliest available date reflecting date of onset of disease ("optimal date of onset" in WANIDD).
  3. Rate = crude rate per 100,000 population. Rates were calculated using Rates Calculator Version 9.5.4 (Department of Health, Western Australia)
  4. Totals include cases where the postcode is unknown or outside WA, but the case was diagnosed in WA.
