How to use the Search Functions
If you are unsure of the type of policy you are searching for select "Search all policy types". Alternatively, if you know the policy type select the correct type from the drop down list..
If you are unsure of the policy number leave it blank. Alternatively, if you know the policy number (eg. 1234/ 99 or 15/1) enter only the numbers before the forward slash into the Policy number box (eg 1234 not 1234/99).
If you are unsure of the policy framework or category, select "Search all frameworks and categories " from the Framework or Category drop down box. Alternatively, if you know which framework or category the policy belongs to (eg. Clinical or Industrial) select it from the Framework or Category drop down list.
If you are unsure of the publish date leave it blank. Alternatively, if you know roughly the date the policy was published you can select a date range from the calendar by clicking on the calendar icon and selecting the appropriate dates. The month and year can be changed by clicking the down arrows and selecting from the drop down box. It is best practice to use the calendar for your date selection to ensure dates are entered in the correct format.
The keywords facility will only search the policy title and abstract text, not the entire document. If the key words you are using are returning 0 documents try using more general terms.
The sort by drop down boxes allows you to select how the search results will be sorted on screen (eg. Date, Title, Number, Ascending or Descending).
To search all policies in the database that are current, superseded, no longer applicable or rescinded select "All Documents". If you wish to search only the current policies select "Current policies only".
