||The Departmental Executive Committee endorsed changes to the promotion effective date for Public Service Officers on 8 August 2000.Previously when an Officer of the Western Australian Public Service was promoted to a permanent position within the Public Service, the promotional salary commenced six weeks after the closing date for receiving applications for the position. This is commonly known as the ďsix week ruleĒ.
