Circular A7648 issued on 20 February 1991 focused on the use of Corporate Card and its proposed use by all interested health care units.
Since the release of that Circular, the Department has identified a need to ensure that all applications for the Corporate Card received after 1 February 1991 comply with the Cash Transaction Reports Act 1988. Essentially the same requirements as those that now exist for opening or altering details of bank accounts, apply in respect of the Corporate Card.
In order for officers within Head Office (Verifying Officers) to comply with this Act, they will need an Administrator or other senior officer within a health care unit to vouch the bona fide identity of each Corporate Card applicant. Guidelines and proformas will be supplied to assist in this matter.
The following is the recommended procedure in applying for the Corporate Card to ensure applicants receive all the relevant papers:-
