Health Agencies are responsible for ensuring that documents held by WA Health are released in a timely, efficient and consistent manner in accordance with the FOI Act, and that accurate recording and reporting is maintained.
The purpose of the policy is to provide comprehensive guidance on the release of documents under the FOI Act. This policy is supported by processes to ensure that documents are released in a uniform and consistent way by Health Agencies.
The principles also outline the conditions under which Health Agencies may release personal health documents outside of the FOI Act in accordance with best practice.
For further guidance on meeting the requirements of the policy, refer to the Release of Information under the FOI Act Policy Guidelines available on the WA Health website. http://www.health.wa.gov.au/circularsnew/attachments/967.pdf
