Retirement on the Grounds of Ill Health Guidelines
Section 39 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 provides for the retirement of public service officers on the grounds of ill health.
Operational Circular OP 1053/98 has been superseded with an updated policy OD 0199/09 setting out the applications of Section 39 of the Act.
The Department of Health, Royal Street Divisions is committed to ensuring that an employee who seeks to retire, or is called upon to retire on the grounds of ill health, is treated equitably and granted access to all entitlements.
Where an officer requests to be retired, or is called upon to retire on the grounds of ill health these guidelines should be followed.
A copy of these guidelines are attached for your information and can be accessed via the Holii Intranet at: http://intranet.health.wa.gov.au/policies/royalst_policy.cfm
