INTER-HOSPITAL TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS FOR DVA ENTITLED PERSONS
This operational directive outlines the inter-hospital transport arrangements for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Entitled Persons.
The Hospital Services Arrangement (HSA) between the DVA and Western Australia (WA) covers inter-hospital transport across WA for treatment purposes relating to the Entitled Person’s episode of care. Relevant information about the HSA is accessible via http://intranet.health.wa.gov.au/HealthFinance/branches/dva.cfm
The DVA contracts with Day Procedure Centres (DPCs), public and private hospitals under a Tier 1 or Tier 2 arrangement (see attached list).
All other private facilities are categorised as Tier 3 where admission requires prior financial authorisation from the DVA and would only be granted if the treatment is not available or cannot be provided in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 facilities.
