Prevention of Bullying, Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace policy
The policy has been developed by the Policy and Planning Branch and the Work Life Balance Unit in accordance with the WA Health Workforce Policy Development Framework.
This amalgamated policy arose out of the recently conducted review of the existing Bullying Policy and the close similarities with a variety of other policies relating to harassment and discrimination.
The underlying principles concerning the identification and prevention of bullying, harassment & discrimination of all kinds in the workplace are the same and the current policies all contained similar wording.
Key elements of the amalgamated policy include clearer definitions and a common process relating to different levels of action where breaches are alleged to have occurred.
This policy applies to all persons employed in WA Health, which incorporates the following entities:
This is a system wide policy and supersedes all policies related to bullying, harassment and discrimination in WA Health. It is the responsibility of managers to ensure that all staff have access to a copy of the policy. Employees who have any queries about the Code are to contact their supervisor or manager. Managers or supervisors with queries should contact their human resources branch.
