Workforce Information System – Workforce Analysis and Comparison
The Public Sector Management Division of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet has announced that the Workforce Analysis and Comparison Application (WACA) system is now ready online to take the September 2007 quarter HR MOIR data.
Agencies and departments are expected to provide data to the WACA database from Monday 24 September and not later than Friday 26 October 2007. The website address is https://www.waca.org.au .
Prior to logging on to the WACA website, agencies and departments are asked to obtain their agency/department identifiers and their WACA logon details by sending a request to Alan Lee at mailto:email@example.com.
The Workforce Information System website (http://www.dpc.wa.gov.au/psmd/pubs/wac/datadef/datacont.html) contains the updated list of Data Definitions, the Quick Start Guide, and the User Guide for the Workforce Analysis and Comparison Application (WACA) and should be referenced prior to submitting HR MOIR data to the WACA database. The website also contains the WACA Data Items Template that is primarily intended for those agencies which have to compile the information manually.
It is important for agencies and departments to consult the updated list of data definitions as some changes have been made to that document to provide additional clarifications. No new data fields have been added to that list. Please take note that the system will prompt you to provide explanations on FTE variance before your file can be forwarded to the State Administrator.
The WACA database will only accept fixed length text files. In case you require assistance to convert your file into that format please contact a member of the WACA implementation team at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. (See details below).
Agencies and departments which, by prior agreement with the WACA implementation team, are unable to use the new WACA system at this time will still be required to forward HR data pertaining to FTE and EEO either through the existing HR MOIR system or by emailing Alan Lee. The operation of the existing HR MOIR database will, however, be phased out after 26 October 2007. Agencies and departments are therefore advised to use the new WACA system for the submission of HR data as soon as they are able to do so.
