Health Services Union – Department of Health – Health Service Salaried Officers State Industrial Agreement 2004 – Christmas Period Penalties 2004
Clause 22 of the Health Services Union Agreement deals with Public Holidays, including the treatment of Christmas Day and Boxing Day when these days fall on a Saturday or Sunday.
This clause is to be applied in its current form, with the following conditions to be applied administratively for Christmas 2004:
This administrative action is to be applied only for the Christmas period of 2004, and only for employees covered by the Health Services Union Agreement. This action is being taken to ensure no employee is disadvantaged as a result of the Agreement's provision for 25 December to be observed as the public holiday for shift workers, where this day falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
The arrangements for Christmas 2005 will be reviewed in conjunction with the HSU and further advice will be issued in due course.
