Christmas and Cocos Islands – District and Travel Allowance
The district allowance for Christmas Island has been adjusted in accordance with movements in the Consumer Price Index. The new rates are:
This circular does not apply to awards and agreements that contain a district allowance for Christmas Island. In these circumstances the allowance should only be varied in accordance with the provisions of the relevant awards and agreements. The district allowance rates are effective from the first pay period on or after 1 July 2004.
Travel allowances for Christmas and Cocos Islands have been reviewed and adjusted as follows:
The travel rates should be applied in accordance with the general travel allowance provisions of the relevant agreement, award or contract of employment. The travel rates are effective from the first pay period on or after 28 October 2004.
