WA Cervical Cancer Prevention Program

Do I still need Pap smears?

Yes. The cervical cancer vaccine does not protect against all types of HPV that can cause cervical cancer. Regular Pap smears are still needed to detect abnormal cell changes in the cervix, even if you have been vaccinated.
