Association of schizophrenia candidate genes involved in oligodendrocyte function (Honours project)
Association of schizophrenia with DNA sequence variants in the oligodendrocyte lineage transcription factor 2 (OLIG2) and the ErbB4 gene have been reported recently.
The aim of the current project will be to test a family sample of 204 families with schizophrenia for association of variants within these genes with schizophrenia. At least six SNPs in these family samples using high throughput fluorescence based genotyping techniques will be analyzed and correlated for association with schizophrenia.
Alexander Barty started this project on July 28, 2008. The project will be finished by April 2009.
