The Neurochemistry section under Associate Professor Mathew Martin-Iverson operates a series of projects based in the Pre-Pulse Inhibition Laboratory at Graylands Hospital. The major project under way is:
Currently there are four honours and postgraduate students engaged in PPI research projects:
- The effects of 0.20mg/kg dexamphetamine upon PPI (honours project)
- Non-monoaminergic pathways involved in the acute prosocial effects of MDMA
- The effects of cannabis use on eye blinks and brain function
- Inheritance of dopaminergic phenotypes in congenic strains of C3H/ mice and their relationships to a novel method of PPI analysis
