A cognitive and neurophysiological investigation of first-rank symptoms in schizophrenia
This study investigates the brain mechanisms underlying first-rank (passivity) symptoms in schizophrenia. First-rank symptoms are a common experience in schizophrenia, with sufferers reporting that their thoughts and actions are influenced or controlled by external forces.
The aims of the project are to examine the neuropsychological functioning, neurophysiological brain activity, and behavioural impairments in patients with these symptoms.
This study will lead to an improved understanding of the processes that contribute to dysfunctions of self-recognition in patients with schizophrenia.
